Class 11 Social Studies and Life Skill Book
Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Curriculum Development Center (CDC) has published the Class 11 compulsory textbook Social Studies and Life Skill Book (Samajik Adhyan Tatha Jeevan Upyogi) as per the new Syllabus (Curriculum). Education seeks knowledge in students and establishes a connection between learning and real life. Education should promote students' rights, freedoms, and equality, practice a healthy life, make decisions based on logical analysis and develop the capacity for sustainable development of individuals, societies, and nations based on scientific analysis. Similarly, students are expected to develop moral conduct, social harmony, and sensitivity to the ecological balance, and the ability to commit to lasting peace.
Education should prepare citizens who use modern knowledge, skills, information and communication technology, practice self-reliant and business-oriented skills, respect the nation, nationality, and national ideals, adopt socially acceptable conduct and work culture, and be tolerant. Similarly, civic readiness is expected to contribute to building a self-reliant, patriotic, change-oriented, thoughtful, and inclusive society with the characteristics of being creative, imaginative, enterprising, and behaving based on high thinking and ideals, successfully managing contemporary challenges. In view of these aspects, this textbook has been developed based on the curriculum of class 11 social studies and life-sustaining education prepared in accordance with the National Curriculum Draft, 2076 BS.

The social studies textbook written by Shri Ram Upadhyaya, Shri Mahendra Bista, and Shri Surya Gurung has been rewritten and modified by the task force of authors including Shri Ganesh Prasad Bhattarai, Shri Renuka Pandey Bhusal, Shri Hemraj Khatiwada, Shri Saraswati Bhattarai, and Shri Shyamprasad Pandey.
The Director-General of the Center, Mr. Keshav Prasad Dahal, Dr. Lekhnath Poudel, Prof. Dr. Vinay Kushiyat, Prof. Dr. Bhaveshwar Pangeni, Prof. Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel, Mr. Nira Shakya, Mr. Bimal Kumar Kedia, Mr. Dhruv Kumar Thapa, and Mr. Rohit Raj Regmi have made a special contribution in bringing the textbook in this form. . Its language is edited by Mr. Chinakumari Niraula and Mr. Purushottam Ghimire. The format and art editing of this book has been done by Shri Shri Hari Shrestha. The Center expresses its heartfelt gratitude to them and all those involved in its development.
Textbooks are considered an important tool for teaching and learning. The use of this textbook is expected to help students achieve the target competencies through the textbook. Efforts have been made to make the textbook activity-oriented and interesting as possible.
